Archetype, a speculative travelling type conference exploring the relationship between typographic history and contemporary practices. It brings archival print practices, historic letterforms, and digital tools into one platform, encouraging designers to study traditional methods and reinterpret them through modern processes. By exploring lettering in architecture and print culture, the conference positions typography as an inherited craft while being an evolving practice.
The identity system translates this idea into a visual language that balances analogue typographic references with modern graphic structures, alongside applications including posters, publications, and materials for city-based typographic walks.
Letterpress compositions created using wood type and furniture arranged within a metal frame. The printed forms were scanned and translated into digital posters, preserving the texture and irregularities of the original prints.
The wordmark is originally composed with wood type and metal type and printed using a press. This print was later scanned and refined digitally to create the final wordmark.
